Ginseng Study
The Chinese herbal medicine has increasingly gained popularity in western world. Most researchers have looked into the use of ginseng as an alternative therapeutic approach to tactic diseases. Cardiovascular disease is one of the major causes of death in many developed countries. Researchers in China, Korea and Japan have been carrying out numerous laboratory experiments in ginseng for nonitoring blood cholesterol and lipids as well as blood sugar.
In addition, pharmacology studies inicate the reduction in factors associated with risk in heart diseases. Some investigations have indicated that ginseng adminstration in animals improves immune function,reduces, stress, provides antioxidant effects, inhibits induced tumor formation and improves oxygen utilizaiton.
The general human body was not designed to counteract stresses. When one encounters stresses or is under distress, it will cause the imbalance of the "heat or cold", and at worst it will deregulate the natural body system. The effect of ginseng in overcoming fatigue was viewed as an "anti-stress" action. As mentioned above, studies haev facused on ginseng's ability to protect animal from various types of stress, low oxygen content, and exposure to ionizing radiation...etc. Ginseng also acts as an adaptogen: substance with a relatievly high degree of safety that the body adapts to various types of stress.
